The Course at Wente Vineyards opened in July 1998 and was designed by golfing great Greg Norman. It\’s an 18-hole championship course on a picturesque, upscale, daily-fee golf course. Whether you\’re novice or pro, playing here is a rewarding experience. The Course and Wente Vineyards has hosted the Livermore Valley Wine Country Championship, part of the PGA Tour’s Nationwide Tour.
And if you want to improve your game, you can take lessons or attend a clinic at the Vineyard course. Group workshops, private instruction, clinics, playing lessons, all occur regularly.
Hone your strategy at Callippe
The Callippe Preserve course is one of the Pleasanton golf courses where you can really focus on your strategy. It was designed so length and power are not the most critical skills required to play the course well.
Callippe opened in 2005, designed by B rian Costello. There are five sets of tees on this par 72, with the black tees playing at 6,748. The blue tees measure at 6,409, then the white tees at 6,024 yards, the gold tees at 5,560, and the red at 4,788 yards. The front nine offer valley routes and the back nine are at a higher elevation, with the Happy Valley Creek winding through.
You can also expect outstanding views of Mount Diablo–plus, incredible sanctuaries dedicated to the Callippe Butterfly are displayed on holes 11 through 14.
Go casual at Pleasanton Golf Center
Whether you are just teeing it up for the first time or working to win your club championship, this Pleasanton golf course can help you reach your goals. Located near downtown Pleasanton, this golf center offers a number of golf programs: three par-four holes; a warm-up range with grass tees; and a two-hour playing time.
Experience a newly renovated course at Las Positas
Las Positas Golf Course was designed by Robert Muir Graves and opened in 1966. The most recent renovation completed in 2012 on this 27-hole facility in the Livermore Wine Country. Beautiful white sand bunkers, the Signature 18, landscaping, a new ‘Beeb’s at the Turn’ eatery are all hallmarks of this lovely course.
